My name’s Kate. I cook things. Vegan things. And then I eat them. If I’m lucky, I remember to take pictures of them before I eat them. It’s all quite simple, really. Vegan cooking, vegan food pornography, and vegan eating.

So, you ask, why are you vegan? Is it for animal rights reasons or environmental reasons or health reasons or political reasons? Well, I am vegan for all these reasons, but it is hardly that complex. Being vegan is simply about celebrating my freedom as a human being to live in a way that reduces unnecessary suffering. It is about embracing my ability to uncover the origins of the products I buy and to understand the consequences of my actions. It is about assuming responsibility for the well being of myself and others. It is the best and easiest decision I have made.

I created this blog to share the happiness I find in cruelty-free cooking and eating. I hope its photos, stories, musings, and ramblings make you smile.

    Hi Kate, I wanted to let you know that your dedication to vegan cooking and lifestyle is admirable. I am in college right now, so cooking is pretty much out of the question with no kitchen readily available, or time for that matter. I hope that I am able to cook more later and produce yummy food like that depicted in your gorgeous photos. I am very impressed with the fact that you create usable items too. I just stumbled onto your blog because I was researching a paper for English class about availability of vegan food in college dining halls. It’s a very cute and intriguing blog, and I just wanted to let you know! Thank you for taking the time to read my ramblings. =]

    Hey, this is Catski from VegWeb! Scooted on over here from your profile link. Your food looks AWESOME. I want to make chocolate things with peanut butter and more chocolate on now but sadly it’s four million degrees outside today and I think salad and tinned pineapple will be a better choice…
